Subaru And Head Tyrolia Sponsor Ski Clinics
Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) and ski manufacturer Head Tyrolia Wintersports will
sponsor free womens ski clinics and offer the opportunity for participants
to try new equipment. SOA and Head Tyrolia also will donate money to the National
Breast Cancer Coalition Fund for each woman who attends the clinics.
Learn Safety On The Slopes
SOA and its regions sponsor more than a dozen Master the Mountain events annually
for skiers and snowboarders. Members of the Professional Ski Instructors of America
offer free mini-lessons and the National Ski Patrol demonstrates rescue techniques.
Subaru Forges New Affiliation
SOA is now affiliated with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA),
which serves more than 100,000 audiologists and speech-language pathologists and
scientists. SOA was the presenting co-sponsor of the 2001 ASHA convention, held
Nov. 15-18 in New Orleans.

SOA Sponsoring Sled Dog Race
SOA is the official sponsor of the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon in Duluth,
Minnesota, which attracts participants and spectators from around the world. Activities

Mountain Bikers Traverse Michigan
The 12th annual Subaru Iceman Cometh Challenge mountain bike race was held Nov.
3, from Kalkaska to Traverse City, Michigan. More than 2,000 men and women cycled
the 27-mile course. Subaru has been the title sponsor for four years.
Import Car Show Held In Georgia
More than 40 old and new Subaru Impreza models entered the 2001 NOPI Nationals Motorsports
Supershow, held Sept. 15-16 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hampton, Georgia. (NOPI
is an aftermarket import part sourcing company.) An estimated 75,000 spectators
attended.
Driving Clinic Held In California
A driving clinic for owners of Subaru vehicles was held Sept. 23 at the San Bernardino
County (California) police and sheriffs driver training center. The 72 slots
filled quickly, mostly with drivers of Subaru RS coupe and WRX vehicles. Volunteers
from the Sports Car Club of America taught a one-hour class on driving theory, then
officiated and gave instruction on a variety of driving skills.
