SUBARU OF INDIANA AUTOMOTIVE CELEBRATES THREE YEARS OF ZERO LANDFILL STATUS Congratulations to the Subaru of Indiana (SIA) manufacturing plant in Lafayette, Indiana, on its three-year anniversary of zero landfill status. Subaru Legacy, Outback, and Tribeca models are built at SIA, which sends nothing to landfills during the manufacturing process. The Subaru plant was the first U.S. auto plant to achieve zero landfill status, with all its waste being either reused, recycled, or converted to electricity for the city of Indianapolis. (Read more about SIA in the Summer 2005 issue of Drive.) |
