(SOA) attempts to connect with current and prospective Subaru customers by reaching them through events, activities, and causes that fuel their passions. Sponsorships provide consumers with opportunities to interact with the Subaru brand and Subaru vehicles in a way that isn’t possible through conventional marketing.

THE WEST COAST SEA KAYAK SYMPOSIUM. Held at Fort Worden State Park Conference Center in Port Townsend, Washington, the event featured a weekend-long festival and symposium with activities and events for paddlers of all ages and paddling abilities. Read more about the event at www.wcsks.org.

THE 2ND ANNUAL WHITEWATER FESTIVAL. The festival at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Tuckaseegee Ford Park, Charlotte, North Carolina, included a full day of activities and clinics along with a kids’ zone, kayak races, food, and live music. Visit the center’s Web site at www.usnwc.org.

GAULEY FEST. The largest river festival in the world took place at Nicholas County Veterans Memorial Park in Summersville, West Virginia, in late September. The festival brought people together to enjoy a three-day weekend of outdoor activities while showcasing whitewater paddlesports and encouraging membership in American Whitewater.
