![]() Subaru PZEV models equipped with the 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engines have earned SmartWay certification for the 2008 model year.
Vehicles that are SmartWay certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) achieve predetermined values in emissions and fuel-economy tests. Subaru Legacy, Outback, and Forester models with Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engines have earned that certification for the 2008 model year. Subaru PZEV models have 90-percent cleaner emissions than the average new vehicle. The PZEV rating means that they are the cleanest gasoline vehicles available today, and they meet emissions standards that are actually cleaner than some hybrid or alternative-fuel vehicles. |
