In our travels, we’ve noticed what seems to be an increasing number of front-seat passengers in all types of vehicles slumping in their seats and riding with one foot or both feet resting on the dashboard. This positioning presents problems concerning the safety systems in your Subaru vehicle.
The seats have wedge-shaped constructions underneath their upholstery. In a frontal impact, the wedge helps to hold the occupant in position as the seatbelts and airbags help protect the occupant. A passenger lounging with feet on the dash is out of position and could slide under the seatbelt. The front airbag could push up the legs and force the passenger even farther out of position.
Proper positioning for the passengers is just as important as it is for the driver.
HD Radios in the 2011 Subaru Forester have a “TAG” button. Tagging a song on the radio when an iPod®2 is plugged into the system causes the iPod to hold and pass on information about the song when synched with iTunes®3 on a computer. That way, the listener can call up information about the song and has an option to purchase it.
