On April 20, Subaru unveiled the all-new 2012 Impreza in New York. Both Sedan and 5-door models were presented, revealing significant changes from the current Impreza.
The 2012 Impreza is the fourth generation of the car. Its design is bolder and more dynamic. In profile, the 2012 Impreza draws focus to its wheels with powerful arches, a theme that debuted on the 2010 Subaru Legacy.
Powered by an all-new 148-horsepower 2.0-liter SUBARU BOXER engine, the 2012 Impreza offers a choice of two transmissions: A five-speed manual or the second-generation Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). With the CVT, the Impreza will offer the highest fuel economy of any all-wheel drive car in America, with projected EPA ratings of 27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. Every 2012 Impreza will be equipped as standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
The AWD running gear and more confident design reflects the new theme for Subaru – Confidence in Motion™.
