Subaru Support

Through support provided by Subaru of America Foundation, this program will reach an additional 10-15 girls during the 2012-2013 academic year. Because of this grant, the program can now help five schools in the Richmond Independent School District of Dallas.

Community in Schools

CISDR supports the girls beyond the GEMS program. Since 1985, CISDR professionals work one-on-one with students to provide individualized support services to help underachieving but capable students stay in school, achieve academically, and graduate.

“We are working on the school campus. That way our campus managers and case managers really develop relationships with these kids,” said Alex Wilson, director of development and communication for CISDR. During 2011-2012, CISDR served 9,750 students, and in 2012-2013, they will impact the lives of 10,000 students and their families on 64 school campuses in 14 school districts throughout the region. The results are that 98 percent of the CISDR participants stayed in school with 93 percent of the CISDR seniors graduated.
