Make-A-Wish® has long stood as a beacon of hope for children with life-threatening medical conditions and their families.
Make-A-Wish makes their heartfelt wishes come true: from Hawaiian vacations to Alaskan adventures, to experiencing what it’s like to be a ballerina or a firefighter, to meeting their most beloved heroes. Though the organization now has reached the astounding accomplishment of granting a child’s wish in the U.S. every 38 minutes, with 28,000 children diagnosed with a life-threatening illness each year, there are always more wishes to be granted.
Make-A-Wish teamed up with Subaru of America, Inc. for the “Share the Love” event: For every Subaru sold, Subaru will donate $250 to one of the five selected charities. Make-A-Wish was thrilled the event could help it get closer to reaching the goal of granting the wish of every eligible child.
“After hosting more than 45 events with local dealerships in more than 20 states in 2011, many Make-A-Wish chapters now have great relationships with local Subaru dealerships across the country,” said David Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America.
“We’re very excited to build upon last year’s success,” Williams continued. “The ‘Share the Love’ event is a great fit for us. Just as Subaru ‘shares the love’ during the holiday season, Make-A-Wish shares hope, strength, and joy with wish kids, wish families, volunteers, and local communities, year-round.”
