Putting their dreams on hold and their lives at stake, both current and former military personnel depend on our collective support as a nation. The United Service Organizations (USO) strives to uplift those who not only have one of the toughest jobs imaginable, but improve the lives of their loved ones as well. Started in 1941 in response to World War II, the USO is most widely known for its Entertainment Tours, which have become a storied part of America’s culture.
Today, the organization is responsible for a multifaceted, worldwide outreach. From Operation USO Care Package, the USO Warrior and Family Care Program, and Operation Phone Home, as well as countless other programs, the organization keeps those in the armed forces in touch with those they love, provides civilian employment resources post-service, and finds every possible way to let a soldier know they are appreciated.
