XV Crosstrek Awarded IIHS 2012 Top Safety Pick

 

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recognized the all-new 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek as a 2012 Top Safety Pick. With the XV Crosstrek earning the highest possible rating in IIHS evaluations, Subaru remains the only manufacturer with 2012 IIHS Top Safety Picks for all models.

 

Subaru BRZ a Top 10 All-New Car

 

According to totalcarscore.com, the BRZ ranks as one of the Top 10 All-New Cars for 2013. The automotive research and comparison website stated that “by keeping the design goal focused and straightforward, the … BRZ is affordable and dynamically engaging, with a splash of style and personality thrown in.”

 

Subaru Impreza and XV Crosstrek Win Good Design Award 2012

 

On the international scene, Japan Industrial Design Promotion (JDP) has selected the Impreza and XV Crosstrek for its Good Design Award 2012. JDP liked the “solid, stylish, and universally appealing exterior design,” roomy cabin space, and “renowned technological advantages that include improved fuel efficiency with the new generation Boxer engine, body weight reduction with the adoption of a newly designed platform, and enhanced crash safety technologies.”

 

About the XV Crosstrek, JDP said, “The car clearly expresses ‘Fun to Drive.’”

 

Subaru Technologies at the Top for Saving Fuel

 

The auto ranking and comparison website Cars.com has determined a list of the Top 10 Gas Saving Technologies for 2013. Subaru vehicle technologies are among those listed: One is the use of continuously variable transmissions that help keep the engine in its most fuel-efficient operating range. The Subaru Outback with its Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) was named as an example.

 

Folio: MediaNext Show Awards for Drive Magazine

 

Subaru Drive magazine has received both editorial and design awards from the 2012 Folio: MediaNext Show. The Eddie and Ozzie Awards – the largest awards competition in magazine publishing – celebrate excellence in editorial and design.

 

Drive received an Eddie for the canyoneering article (Fall 2011) and Ozzies for the Best Use of Illustration for the Guide to Owner Benefits insert (Fall 2011) and the Best Use of Photography for the Road Trips article about Glacier National Park (Winter 2012).
